Hello!
My name is
Wendy Klassen, a Grandma, Mom and pet owner. Not necessarily in that
order.
As a child we always had
pets in our home so it was only natural that when I had my own children I
carried on the tradition and my girl’s always had something warm and furry
to cuddle. There is something so pure about the love our pets give us;
those eyes, those wiggly tails. They will always have a special “place in
our hearts”.

This undying
love was my inspiration, and a few years ago I decided to do my family’s
pets portraits as Christmas gifts. I had always enjoyed Art classes in
high school, but motherhood happened after I graduated and there was no
time for drawing.
My first
portraits (Sasha, Bo, Shelby, Emma, and Ripley) were done with simple
pencil crayons (that I had “borrowed” from my daughter) and ink. Christmas
2004 brought me my first watercolours, paper and brushes (“Two Hoots” was
my first watercolour). This opened up a whole new world for me. People saw
my work and wanted me to paint their pets. I cannot tell you how much
pleasure I get when I deliver a painting and I see the recipient’s eyes
light up.
I hope you enjoy my paintings and, if you would like your pet painted,
please fill in an order form. All I need is a digital image (I put this on
my computer so I can zoom in and get the fine details). I prefer a
head/shoulder shot so I can focus on those loving eyes. I look forward to
painting “a place in your heart”.
Thank you for visiting!
